What a joy to share this update with you. Three of us left the states from three different airports on the Sunday following time with families at Thanksgiving. We felt it was important for us to meet with those in China who provide leadership for us and who joyfully serve the churches. Psalms 37:23 tells us that “The steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord.” The Lord orchestrated this trip in a manner that was beyond our ability to plan. We were provided with important updates that are needed in order for us to continue providing Bibles to the thousands in China who need one.

We had opportunity to get updates and praise reports from our team members there regarding all that has taken place this year in their communities regarding the provision of Bibles. As we sat and listened to them share their many stories we felt a real sense of spiritual confidence and assurance that what God is doing through Bibles for China is making an eternal difference.

One pastor flew for over three hours and another drove for eleven hours to share with us the difference that Bibles are making in their area. One of the stories was about a young man who received a Bible three years ago and is now following the Lord and entering into ministry. One came with three gifts which were locally crafted with very distinct Chinese care. Another pastor came with a suitcase full of gifts of appreciation. The Chinese people are so kind, caring and gracious.

Each contact told us that they are anxiously awaiting our provision of Bible funds for them again in 2019. In each case they asked us if there was any way we could provide more opportunities with increased funds so they could do more next year than they did this year. One of the things we repeatedly told them was that we have people open and willing to provide funds if they still have “A passion for Bibles” and a willingness to carry the torch to get them to where they are needed the most and where there are none. The answer was always a resounding YES! How can we bypass such an opportunity in a country that appears to be closing the doors from the influence of the Bible. We are both overwhelmed and confident that with all that is taking place and the magnitude of the problem, the need and God’s provision of funds still exists for the purchase of Bibles.

Are there problems? Absolutely. Are the doors open? Yes. Will doors be continue to be open? Only the Lord knows. However, at the present time we can report that our partners, friends and the provision of the Lord has granted Bibles for China with the funds and locations to be able serve as the bearers of the Light in a dark country that is atheistic and without hope. It is our responsibility to pray and support those who still have an open door to carry out the mandate of the Gospel placing His Word into the hearts of those who are hungry and seeking direction.

In 2019 we will continue to work with strategic ministry partners in China to make it possible to more effectively carry out the great commission of Matthew 28:19 – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
