Providing access to the scripture is a worthy and noble calling

Last night I was reading through some of our newsletters and emails from the last 10 years. It was such a blessing as I was reminded of so many great memories of being in China! I was reminded of the faithful support of our partners as well as those who were able to accompany us on one of our distributions and see firsthand what was happening in China and how hungry the people there were for the word of God. But most of all I was touched again by the power of the Word of God! Reading so many stories of how God has been working through the truth of scripture by bringing people to faith in Him and giving hope to the hopeless and help to the helpless. It was a reaffirmation for me of the validity of the ministry of Bibles for China. Helping others have access to the scripture is a worthy and noble calling because it does make a difference. Thank you for partnering with us!

Early in Jesus ministry he visited the synagogue in Nazareth. He was given the opportunity to read from the scriptures that day and He chose to read from the book of Isaiah. Here is what He read.  Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”  He then went on to tell those listening that this scripture was being fulfilled that very day, in their presence. Jesus was declaring that He was the one to bring salvation, hope and renewal to all. He is the good news they had been waiting to receive!  This is the Good News we share when we distribute the Bible in China!

The church in China faces many challenges, but the hope the people of China can find in the Word of God is life transforming. Jesus says He has come to heal the brokenhearted, preach deliverance to the captives, give sight to the blind and set all mankind free. The Bible gives hope to anyone who will take the time to read it and apply the truth the find.

As you know getting into China is difficult right now, but by the power and grace of God we have been able to continue to fund Bibles and see them distributed in spite of our inability to be there. Our in China partners have done an outstanding job of keeping the wheels turning. The process has changed and the stories are harder to come by today, but we are confident of this; the Word of God and the truth it contains has and always will make a difference!

We continue to trust God to open doors and guide this ministry as we move forward with a “passion for Bibles and a heart for China.”
