While touring China, we were able to visit a large church in the area we were staying. This church has numerous services each weekend. We attended a 9:00 am service which was the second service of the day! On our way to the sanctuary, we walked through an overflow area filled to capacity that had a giant screen for viewing the service.

 Thankfully a few seats had been saved for us or we wouldn’t have had a place to sit! It was packed and stools set up in the front were filled also. The balcony was filled and there was another overflow area on the other side of the building that was all filled with people. We were amazed and grateful to see so many Chinese Christians worshipping together! 

 We sang hymns (they in Chinese and we in English when we recognized the song). What a joyful noise! Then the pastor gave his sermon from Psalms 23. Our interpreter gave us the highlights and it was a wonderful sermon showing Jesus as our Good Shepherd. 

 Following the sermon, the pastor gave an invitation for all those who desired to give their hearts to Jesus as their Savior. The front of the church filled up with at least fifteen people who wanted to know more about following Jesus! We were overjoyed to see the Holy Spirit working in the lives of the Chinese! We look forward to meeting these beautiful souls someday in heaven to share our love for our Lord!!
