“They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” Lamentations 3:23 ESV
God is good all the time. Daily we are impressed with the work that He does through the ministry of Bibles for China. He continually puts the right people in the right place at the right time for us to continue to have the opportunity to distribute Bibles to those who need them. Today, over 6,500 miles from where I am sitting in the middle of the United States, a young lady is making connections with rural church leaders that will allow us to potentially distribute openly and legally more Scriptures this year than any previous year in the history of our ministry – a Chinese business man is negotiating the printing of Gospels of John that will be used by the church evangelistically – and other ministries from around the world are working with our brothers and sisters in China to help them grow and develop young men and women that will lead the church in China into generations to come.
We are so thankful that God has brought the skills and passions of these individuals and ministries together to fulfill the will of God in China. We are so blessed to be a part of this move of God that will not be frustrated in spite of the difficulties the Chinese church faces. The church is spread far and wide, and yet through the connections we have because of our mutual faith in Christ, we are as close as brothers and sisters.
But we are reminded that that life is fragile and of the warning of 1 Peter 5:8 “Keep awake! Watch at all times. The devil is working against you. He is walking around like a hungry lion with his mouth open. He is looking for someone to eat.” One of our good friends and colleagues, a brother in Christ in China, tragically lost his life this past month. While we are not sure of the details we do know that he will be missed and that God can use this tragedy to advance His Kingdom and to strengthen his Church in China and around the world.
Thank you for the part that you play. Your prayers and generosity are the foundation of our ministry. Together we are making a difference. That is the beauty of the Body of Christ – the Church being the Church. We will continue to strive to make connections, make scriptural engagements, and do so with integrity and a passion for the Church in China. We believe the promise of Christ when he said in Matthew 16:18, “I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”
