God is at Work in China

During a recent visit to China our hearts were moved when we witnessed a large number of the congregation gathered at the entrance of the church praying after the service. They had just received Bibles and gathered for a prayer of petition and thanksgiving. One of the provincial leaders was on his knees with hands stretched to the cross praying for the needs of the rural church.

We hear how God is moving in China but to be there and experience it gives us the confidence to know that God is faithful to answer the prayers of the believers. We were amazed with the love and acceptance we felt in their presence.

People sometimes think that those who are Christians in China are only those who meet behind closed doors without anyone knowing that the Lord is being worshipped. There are some who fear that if they are open with their expressions to the Lord they will be confronted for their faith. Our ministry carries out what we do in China through the registered churches in China. As our teams visit these churches we are not there to do what those who are Christians in China can do effectively for themselves, but to provide Bibles for them to use for learning and inspiration.

The Three-Self Patriotic Movement states that churches in China need to be self- governed, self-supported and self-propagating. The church in China has gifted leaders who have been trained and have the ability to share the gospel and to lead the Christians who attend these churches. Because of the constant growth of the church there, they have asked us to pray for additional pastors and leaders. Please help us pray for this request.

Our teams show up to be encouraged by these wonderful people and in turn we also are an encouragement to them. What’s the greatest gift a person who is eternity bound could receive? We believe a Bible is the most important need for the continuation of the move of God in China. Bibles for China continues to have “A passion for Bibles. A heart for China.”

God has promised “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful”  Hebrews 10:23
