“Thank you for your financial gifts to purchase 20,000 Bibles and your prayers that protected both the team and the Bibles. The team is tired physically but overjoyed and energized in our spirits. We fully believe Isaiah 55:10-11 “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

“God always makes amazing provision for His children even before they ask. I experienced something during this trip that I have never experienced before. At our first stop a friend of the man who was driving us from one church to another showed up. He was a very distinguished man, well dressed, and carried himself as a man accustomed to respect. I met him and thanked him through our interpreter many times for his help but he stayed so far in the background that I never learned his name.

 “He was with the team every day that we were there and from the first moments he met the team he was at my side and acted as my personal assistant. As Bibles were handed out, he was the man that rushed to carry a stack of Bibles to those who were handing them out so they could place them in the hands of the people. He organized the others so they carried boxes of Bibles, opened them and handed them to him so he could keep others supplied. He was always at my side and if there were stairs he was next to me and took my arm to insure I did not fall (I guess he could see that I am 75, but he just did not know that I am usually the one helping others up the stairs). Once, when I got up from a dusty bench he rushed to my side and brushed the dust from my coat and trousers. This man, who appeared to be a very successful businessman, adopted the role of my personal servant. After the distribution when we were heading to Beijing for a debriefing, the team realized that we did not even know this man’s name. He was not part of the official group assigned to help us, he just showed up and served. I wonder if sometimes there are angels in our midst, assigned by God, that in our busyness we miss.”
